I’m Michelle Daley, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and EMDR therapist. I graduated with my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University.
In 2024, I returned to school to pursue my Doctorate in Social Work at Barry University. This program is heavily focused on trauma and trauma-informed care. My research focus has included mothers who have given birth prematurely, resulting in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) admission, and the impact that this has on mother and infant.
I spent many years working for a non-profit agency as the director of a day program for adults with severe mental illnesses. There, I created and implemented programs to help teach skills that were necessary for those individuals. During my time at this organization, I also conducted individual therapy for adults and children experiencing a wide array of concerns. Through this experience, I found that anxiety was my passion and began studying different forms of therapy that were proven effective.
My clinical experience expanded when I trained in a treatment called EMDR, a highly effective trauma treatment. EMDR can be used to treat trauma, self-esteem, anxiety, and phobias. EMDR became my second passion. I am still amazed by the impact this treatment has on clients. I truly enjoy the opportunity to pass on my knowledge to others and help them heal from their past experiences.
In 2017, I opened my private practice, MLS Counseling. I wanted to be able to do what I love (helping others through therapy) while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
